The rating of investment attractiveness of regions enables to structure investment possibilities of the whole country, chairman of the State Investment Project VladyslavKaskiv said during the presentation of results of investment ratings research, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the official, the President set a task to prepare the rating of investment attractiveness of regions two years ago. "We have worked with famous research establishments, and the research results reveal investment prospective and concrete recommendations," he said.
The top five regions include Kharkiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk regions and Kyiv city. In Kharkiv region, the examples of successful investments are companies "Fillip Morris Ukraine" and "Balcem Eurocement", Kharkiv autogenic plant; in Lviv region - "Khlebprom concern" (bread production), "Galychyna- West", "Provymy"; in Donetsk region - "Zeus Ceramics", Makeyevka metallurgic and Khartsyzsk pipe works.
In general, the leaders on attracting investments are industry (31.5% of FDI in 2012) and finances (29.6%). The leading industries are metallurgy (35.9%), food industry (17.7%) and mining (9%).
