Foreign students will be able to study at the military arts departments, defense minister Pavlo Lebedev told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, there is a mechanism for training reserve officers for foreign countries on the basis of the Ukrainian military arts departments and institutions.
The minister noted that today 10-15 thousand students from the former Soviet states study in Ukraine. If they get rank of reserve officer in Ukraine, "it will attract financial investment and keep instructional staff".
To date, 25 thousand employees are involved in the military education system, of whom five thousand are cadets. "The others are instructional staff, and support - security, cleaning, repairing," - he said.
According to Lebedev, the task of the Defense Ministry in 2013-2015 is to increase the enrollment of students in civil degrees up to 10 thousand Ukrainians, and up to 10 thousand foreigners.
