Trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Kazakhstan are developing dynamically and give reason for optimism.

This statement was made by first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov during the XI meeting of the joint Ukrainian-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation under the chairmanship of the first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and the vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

"Trade and economic relations between our countries are developing dynamically and give reason for optimism. Kazakhstan is our third argest trading partner among the CIS countries, and eighth largest in the world," Arbuzov stated.

In 2012, the volume of trade between Ukraine and Kazakhstan amounted to $ 4.2 billion, having increased by 443.86 million dollars if compared to 2011. Ukrainian exports amounted to 2 billion 643 million dollars, with an increase of 625.9 million (31%), and imports of Kazakhstan to Ukraine made up 1 billion 537 million dollars, with a decrease of 192 million dollars (10.6%).

"To preserve positive trend, we should continue working together to improve the trade regime, to eliminate existing exceptions and limitations, to improve the structure of the trade balance, including through increasing the share of supply of high-tech products," Arbuzov said.
