The meeting of the Kazakh-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Kyiv today, will enhance realizing potential of the two countries, first vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov said after the signing of the protocol following the Commission's work, the press service of the politician informs.

"The Republic of Kazakhstan is our largest trading partner and the third largest partner in terms of turnover within the CIS. This is a direct confirmation of the fact that holding of such commissions is successful. After this meeting, we can further realize the potential of the two countries," Arbuzov said.

He noted that special attention was given to projects in the field of energy, transport, agriculture, engineering, aerospace industry.

"We discussed a number of programs, which Ukraine would like to implement with our partners. For example, provision of sufficient number of permissions to freight transportation, the issue of supply of certain types of steel pipes, and others," the first vice PM of Ukraine said.

He added that currently there are no global problems in relations between Ukraine and Kazakhstan. "There are issues that need to be discussed annually. We need update the data, analyze possibility of countries. Therefore, working groups are set up to address these issues to obtain the satisfactory result for both parties," Arbuzov stressed.

Ukrainian official was supported by the first vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakitzhan Sagintayev. He stressed that the main issue is the discussion of all provisions of the Ukraine-Kazakhstan Action Plan for 2013-2014 ("Road Map-4").

"The document is fully agreed by the parties and is ready to be signed during the visit of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov to Kyiv on April 4-5," Sagintayev said.
