The Justice Ministry of Ukraine will send the changes to the existing law on parliamentary elections to the European Commission and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe for consideration. The changes are developed on the basis of the report and the conclusions of the OSCE on parliamentary elections in Ukraine in October 2012, justice minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych said during the meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Mr. John Tefft, the Justice Ministry press service informs.

In particular, according to the minister, the bill proposes to take into account the comments of the OSCE, which were made after the end of the election campaign.

In turn, Ambassador Tefft noted that Ukraine should study the way, which was successfully passed by the Baltic countries. According to him, the electoral legislation of these countries are now already contains provisions for the progressive formation of election commissions on a professional basis.
