Ukraine's course towards priority partnership with Kazakhstan remains unchanged, first vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

The official said that the cooperation between the two countries allows them to be more responsive to current economic challenges. "The importance of closer coordination, including approaches to the development of national economies, sharply increases. We should actively involve existing cooperation mechanisms, and set up new ones, if necessary.

We are planning to shift from implementation of separate projects to joint launch of large-scale investment programs. This strategy will allow support the bilateral economic cooperation at a higher level, regardless of state of the world economy," the first vice PM said.

He noted that it is important to develop direct business contacts between enterprises of Ukraine and Kazakhstan. "Meanwhile, the economic and trade ties between the two countries are growing stronger every year. Strengthening bilateral relations, the two countries act in strict accordance with the national interest," Arbuzov stressed.

First vice prime Minister added that "today we have a unique opportunity to exchange views on the most important areas of economic cooperation between our countries in the business professional environment. Our common goal is to promote the creation of powerful innovation and investment projects in industry, fuel and energy, agriculture, space industry and transport. I am convinced that today's meeting of the intergovernmental commission will strengthen the friendship and economic and trade cooperation between the two brotherly states".
