The Parliament may appoint the date of the election of the Kyiv City Council members and the Kyiv mayor only after there is clarification of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on the issue, leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov told a briefing after the conciliation board, ForUm correspondent reports.
"How many lawyers - so many points of view. For us to make decision, which everybody will observe, we need a clarification of the qualified body, which can’t be challenged.
That is the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine," Yefremov noted.
In addition, according to the PR faction leader, even if the CCS does not take decision before the end of powers of the City Council, the capital won’t be left without power, as there is continuity of power in Ukraine and the MPs will work up to the election.
