Today the leaders of the parliamentary factions will meet in the office of the speaker Volodymyr Rybak at 3 p.m., chairman of the Verkhovna Rada told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the speaker, the faction leaders will seek a compromise on the Kyiv elections, in particular when a draft on the election of the mayor and city council members is to be voted in the second reading and on the whole.

Rybak said that according to the draft agenda for the current week, the issue should be considered by the relevant committee on Wednesday, and put to vote on Friday, April 5.

He stressed once again that the appointment of date of Kyiv elections should not be delayed.

In addition, according to Rybak, the leaders of the parliamentary factions will once again discuss the holding of the hour of questions to the government, as in the course of the conciliation council they failed to agree on the ministers to report to MPs on Friday.

He recalled that the opposition demands that tomorrow the government reports on preparations for floods. "I fulfilled the decision of the conciliation board. I do not see any problem to invite the representatives of the Defense Ministry and the Emergency Service to report on the issue," the speaker said.

Answering the question by ForUm correspondent whether the Parliament will work tomorrow in plenary session, the speaker recalled that two-thirds of the MPs work in the Parliament for the first time and expressed the hope that all issues can be resolved through negotiations. "I hope believe that Parliament will work tomorrow," he concluded.
