Significant temperature fluctuations in the coming days will not let the snow melt quickly in Kyiv, director of the department for urban development and preservation of natural environment of the Kyiv City State Administration Serhiy Sadovyi told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Frosts will be at night, so the water will get into storm drains only during the day and will be frozen again the next night. This allows us to deal with this disaster more efficiently," he said.
At the same time, Sadovyi noted that the city authorities should be ready for possible flooding in the city.
According to him, the Kyiv City State Administration has a special operational headquarter that works around the clock, and in the case of emergency it will promptly take actions.
Sadovyi also instructed balance holders of underground passages to purchase pumps in the case of flooding.
