The government is studying the EU experience in providing subsidies to agricultural enterprises, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said after a visit to one of the Hungarian farms, the Cabinet’s press office informs.

"I was interested in how the system of subsidies, which operates in the European Union, could be introduced in our country. You have heard, perhaps, about the size of subsidies provided by the EU to its farmers – it is a large sum of money. We, unfortunately, cannot afford such," Azarov said.

The Prime Minister added that the program on enhancing economic development for 2013-2014, adopted by the government, provides for a number of measures to support domestic agribusinesses.
