Prime Minister Mykola Azarov discussed with President of Hungary János Áder the issues on protection of our populations against possible flooding, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

In particular, the President of Hungary noted that according to forecasts, there will be a rather alarming situation, as the Carpathian region has snow twice more than usual. Therefore, he stressed that it is necessary to take measures in order to prevent possible negative consequences.

He added that Ukraine and Hungary need to work together in this direction.

According to him, in case of extreme floods the Hungarian reservoirs can reduce water level in the Tisza River by 70 cm.

In turn, Azarov noted that the Ukrainian reservoirs have already prepared for spring floods and can cope with the possible high water.
