Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov thanked Hungary for the start of importing to Ukraine natural gas, purchased on the European spot markets.
"For many years, Ukraine has conducted difficult negotiations with our neighbors, and only Hungary solved this issue, providing a breakthrough in Ukraine's energy independence," Azarov said during the meeting with President of Hungary Janos Ader, the Cabinet’s press office informs.
In addition, the Prime Minister noted that at the request of the Hungarian party, Ukraine could increase the export of electricity to Hungary by 2-2.5 times, ensuring its electricity needs.
