Starting from Monday, 144 Kyiv junior physicians will assist in servicing house calls, director of the Healthcare Department of Ukraine Vitaly Mokhorev told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"In Kyiv, on the first two days after the worsening of weather conditions, there was an increase in the number of calls for primary care physicians. In particular, the number of house calls increased," the official said.
According to him, in view of the situation, there was reached an agreement with the Bohomolets National Medical University on attracting more doctors to service the house calls.
“We will involve 144 medical interns, who have completed university studies and are now undergoing internship at the base of our hospitals," Mokhorev explained.
In turn, head of the Kyiv department of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service Olga Rudnytska informed that 6650 pupils fell ill from ARVI and flu last week.
