The Black Sea ports could significantly increase handling of goods due to the improved logistics, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said in an interview with the Hungarian media, the Cabinet’s press service informs.

"The volumes of cargo transshipment in domestic ports on the Black Sea make up 150 million tons per year. They can be significantly increased when we provide the appropriate logistics," the Prime Minister said.

"For us it is important to provide reliable traffic flows between Ukraine and Europe. The Hungary's direction is relevant and beneficial as it is the shortest way to the center of Europe," he stressed.

The Prime Minister reminded that Kyiv-Yagodyn and Kyiv-Lviv highways were modernized in the last two years, and now it is the turn of the Hungarian logistics directions.

"I put this issue before the Prime Minister of Hungary, and said that if Hungary is ready to grant us credit, we will quickly implement these projects," Azarov said.

According to him, "the funds may be provided partially by the European Union or the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development."

"In any case, I believe that this issue will be resolved," the head of the Ukrainian government said.
