The financial situation in Ukraine is stable. The country pays timely for all financial obligations and is optimistic about the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in an interview with the Hungarian television channel, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.
"We are interested in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. However, we have no urgent need to agree to any conditions. We have a strong enough financial and economic situation. We pay for all our financial obligations and are optimistic about the negotiations with the IMF," Azarov said.
The Prime Minister reminded once again that Ukraine will not raise the gas price for the population, as the IMF requires in order to receive a credit. According to oppressive gas contracts of 2009, Ukraine receives gas at unfair price, which is the highest in Europe, and does not want to transfer this burden on its citizens.
