A headquarter was established in Kyiv on the basis of commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations, which will deal with flood prevention and liquidation of its consequences, head of the Kyiv City State Administration Popov said during a meeting with members of the City staff for emergencies, ForUm correspondent reports.
"This headquarter will prevent the flood and eliminate its consequences. It will be headed by director of the department for urban development Serhiy Sadovyi," Popov said.
According to him, the main task of the headquarter is to prevent the flooding of low-lying territories of the city (Obolon, Rusanivka, Pozniaky, Osokorky and others) and to prevent the damage of engineering and power networks at residential houses.
In addition, he ordered the headquarter to monitor the quality of water at well rooms and inform the public on the results.
