Ukraine hopes that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will provide financial assistance under the stand-by program to Ukraine, economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The team of the Cabinet and the NBU are optimistic about cooperation. We are working very actively, as we are very interested in getting the money. In particular, we are interested in refinancing those loans that were received before," he said, commenting on the arrival of the IMF mission in Ukraine.

According to him, it is to early to speak about the details of work of the mission in Ukraine.

"They started to hold meetings just a couple of hours ago. They will meet with our Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the National Bank of Ukraine, and, of course, with the Prime Minister and vice Prime Ministers. We hope that we have all grounds and all calculations for this assistance to be provided to Ukraine under the stand-by program," Prasolov noted.
