Headquarters for elimination of emergency consequences hourly monitor water level for decision-making in order to avoid flooding in settlements, vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul said before the Cabinet’s meeting.
"The headquarters for emergency response operate. I will hold a regular meeting at the headquarters of Volyn on Friday. Every hour we get information on water levels in the rivers. All the services are doing everything for the effective flood discharge. The situation is anomalous and unusual," Vilkul specified.
The Vice Premier noted that the Ukrainian water storages have sufficient reserve to receive flood water.
"The task of the government is to effectively use this reserve," Vilkul added.
