It is necessary to synchronize the date of elections at all levels in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in an interview with the MIR Russian television channel.
"Ukraine is in a state of permanent electoral process. Since the Presidential election and the parliamentary elections do not coincide in time, and the local authorities elections are held within this period, we have virtually no long period when the electoral populist approach do not dominate in the society," the Prime Minister said.
According to Azarov, Ukraine does not have periods when politicians would think of the country and not on how to be elected either to Parliament or to the mayor’s post, or the President’s post.
"The task of the constitutional reform is to synchronize the elections at all levels, so that the country has time for a stable operation, not to live awaiting the next election campaign. Even now the Presidential election campaign is actually started, although the election itself is to be held in less than two years," Azarov concluded.
