The experts of the Ukrainian Hydrometereological Centre predict no heavy rains, which may paralyze normal life in large parts of Ukraine, director of the Centre Mykola Kulbida said.

"There are no reasons for worrying, since the largest part of precipitations has akready fallen. Those little precipitations, which are expected in future, will have no sufficient effect on the situation. Light precipitation is expected in the north-east and east of Ukraine. We expect reduce in the air temperature in most regions of Ukraine to -9…-14 degrees," Kulbida informed.

At the meeting of the operational emergency headquarters on Saturday, director of the Ukrainian Hydrometereological Centre Mykola Kulbida reported that in 2013 there was an unprecedented situation - Ukraine has not seen such heavy rainfall for over a century.

Due to heavy snowfall, blizzards and snow drifts, the Kyiv city authorities introduced a state of emergency in the capital. At night of March 23, transport in the capital was paralyzed. Thousands of people spent the night in traffic jams. Members of social networks with indignation report on absence of snowplows, complete inaction of traffic police and cases of denial of assistance on the part of Emergency Service workers. Municipal transport is practically not working in the city.
