In 2013, local authorities have received additional income of 11.3 billion hryvnia, first deputy finance minister Anatoly Miarkovsky said, speaking in Parliament during the Hour of questions to the government, ForUm correspondent reports.

Deputy minister began reading out his report with the with questions regarding the relations between the state and local budgets.

"Strengthening the state foundations of local budgets is one of the main tasks of the Government," he said and added that it is important to build an effective system of interstate relations for the socio-economic development of regions.

"The Budget Code of Ukraine was amended over the last two years. The changes has allowed significantly strengthen local finances. In 2013, the local authorities have received additional income of about 11.3 billion UAH due to the conducted activities. In particular, 2.9 billion UAH have been received due to the transfer of budget revenues to the local budget. Increase in their own revenue sources, such as payments for land, fees for the conduct of certain business activities, administrative fines and other sanctions, has given 3.5 billion UAH," he said.

According to Miarkovsky, 4.8 billion UAH have been received through active tax in the regional development budget, investment-related activities. The tax on real estate and mutual funds from infrastructure development has brought 0.5 billion UAH.
