The Ukrainian Parliament has voted for the ratification of the agreement with the EU on visa regime simplification.
As ForUm correspondent reports, the bill "On ratification of the agreement between Ukraine and the European Union to amend the agreement between Ukraine and the European Community on visa regime facilitation" was supported by 275 deputies, including 131 the from Party of Regions, 63 from Fatherland, 36 from UDAR, 33 from Freedom, 0 from CPU and 12 independent MPs.
According to foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara, a speaker on this issue, this ratification is a necessary step to simplify the procedure for issuing Schengen visas to Ukrainians and a legal basis for its entry into force.
"The ratification of this agreement is an important step towards visa free regime with the EU," Kozhara summed up.
