Participation in peacekeeping activities remains a priority for Ukraine, interior minister of Ukraine Vitaliy Zakharchenko said during the international seminar "Development of international peace policing strategy ", the Interior Ministry press service informs.
"Leadergip of our country has consistently supported the UN in field of international peace and security. Participation in peacekeeping remains a priority for Ukraine," the minister said.
According to him, the Special Peacekeeping Center of the National Academy of Internal Affairs has the ability to provide a constant reserve of specialized units of international police force, ready to respond immediately to the requirements of the United Nations.
Zakharchenko is sure that the regional workshops will help determine a standardized range of tasks to be performed by the police force.
"Properly organized peacekeeping is one of the most important guarantees of gobal stability and peace," he said.
