President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych instructed Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to ensure accelerated completion of the bill on the reform of the state and municipal print media, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.
"I instruct to accelerate finalizing the bill on the reform of the state and municipal print media with the participation of the National Union of Journalists, professional associations, editorial offices and submit it to the President with the following consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as the urgent," the document says.
The instruction of the President notes that the relevant bill is worked out to fulfill obligations of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the denationalization of the print media, established by public authorities, local governments, as well as for the further implementation of the European standards in this field.
Yanukovych ordered to submit this document till April 5.
