The Parliament’s committee for regulatory policy and entrepreneurship recommends the Parliament to reject the bill on amendments to the Tax Code regarding bank deposits of individuals, which provides for introducing 25% tax on deposits starting from the next year.

This decision, as ForUm correspondent reports, has been approved by the committee today.

Head of the committee Vitaly Khomutynnik explained that the bill should not be taken as this can cause negative consequences for the banking system of Ukraine.

"First of all, it can lead to an outflow of capital from the banking sector, which is unacceptable. Moreover, the introduction of 25% tax on deposits will affect, first of all, the middle class. This can not be allowed," Khomutynnik summed up.
