The opposition stopped to vote for the decision on local elections, because there was no decision on the election of mayor of town of Vasylkiv (Kyiv region), member of the UDAR faction Pavlo Rizanenko told journalists, ForUm correspondent reports.

"It has no relation to election in Kyiv. This is principled position - the local elections should be held in Vasylkiv," he said.

"Everything was fine, we voted. Then we start considering issue of elections in Vasylkiv, where the mayor wrote a resignation notice. The Party of Regions started to vote against, but their member Yaroslav Moskalenko said there is a court ruling on the issue and it makes no sense to vote until it is not examined," the representative of the UDAR faction said.

Rizanenko argues that this is why opposition did not support the next resolution on early local elections in town of Alchevsk, since the litigation should not prevent the appointment of election date in Vasylkiv.
