Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov instructed deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul to organize work to prevent the consequences of spring floods, he said during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Ukrainian meteorologists predict that the spring coming is delayed a little. In fact, we all are tired of winter. But there will be still cold, snow and rain. The real warming, according to our meteorologists, can be expected in early April. So I pay attention of interagency operational headquarters led by Vilkul and especially public emergency services to organize the normal passage of big water," Azarov said.

According to him, the ice has more or less gone, but the threat of flooding still exists.

The Prime Minister noted that the central and local governments must do everything possible to prevent flooding.
