Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak is ready to vote for a resolution, appointing elections in Kyiv for June 2. He told a briefing after conciliation council, ForUm correspondent reports.

At the same time, the speaker noted that Kyiv mayor will be elected in one round, and the City Council - on a mixed system (50% on party lists, 50% - in single member districts).

"There is no other option so far. However, I do not rule out that the factions will agree on the issue, and changes may be made to the legislation," he said.

As for giving more powers to Kyiv mayor, combining the positions of head of the KCSA and the mayor, according to Rybak, such changes can be made by a President’s decree after the elections.
