
The Commonwealth of Independent States has become an integral part of the global economic system, economic development and trade minister Ihor Prasolov said at the International Economic Forum of CIS member states in Moscow, ForUm correspondent reports.
The minister is convinced that there are excellent prospects to enhance mutual cooperation and to expand contacts with other countries and regions on the bilateral and multilateral basis.
According to him, the CIS market is very important for Ukraine.
"The trade turnover with the CIS countries amounted to 71 billion dollars in 2011 and 67 billion in 2012. To compare with the European Union, the similar figures amounted to 57.7 billion dollars and 51 billion dollars," Prasolov said.
"To find common answers to the challenges of globalization the CIS should create preconditions for the complementarities of potential of our countries for the sake of progressive and predictable economic development," he said.
