Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and President of the Republic of Latvia Andris Berzins signed the Joint Statement, ForUm learned from the press service of the President.
In addition, in the presence of the Presidents there signed the agreement on main areas of cooperation in field of consumer protection between the State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumer Rights Protection and Consumer Rights Protection Centre of republic of Latvia.
The main purpose of the signing of the agreement is to establish the legal and institutional framework for cooperation aimed at protecting the rights and interests of consumers in the territory of Ukraine and Latvia from unfair business entities operating in both countries.
The two parties also signed a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia on cooperation in the development of the transport corridor between the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.
