"Solution of problems concerning the transport scheme to Troieschyna is one of the most urgent issues of Kyiv. Today, the President, the government and the city administration have taken a very rapid pace in solving this issue. First of all, we are surely going to start the construction of a new metro line this year. We will start to organize the construction site and then will start to build the new subway station of this new line. The construction will begin in the coming months," Popov said.

According to him, the construction will start on the right bank. "We are starting to build on the right bank. We need at least three stations to cross with other metro lines. Therefore, the first station will appear in 2.5-3 years," he said.

The new line, according to the head of the KCSA, will include 12 stations, but it is possible that other one-two stations will be added following the construction.

He said that the budget of construction project of the new metro line amounts to about 16 billion UAH. Now, according to him, works on identifying options for stable funding of this project are being completed. On March 20, the Russian Vnesheconombank, who won the tender and is developing a scheme for construction financing, will report on this stage of work. In addition, the city government also offers its financing option and plans to submit it to the Prime Minister soon.
