President Viktor Yanukovych enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of 12 March, 2013 "On urgent measures for the European integration of Ukraine".
As the President’s press service informs, the decree is published on the official website of the President.
Moreover, Yanukovych instructed the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council to ensure concurrence of activity of the central bodies of executive power in field of Ukraine's European integration and interaction with the institutions of the European Union.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council is entrusted with monitoring over the implementation of the decision.
According to the document, the Cabinet is instructed to take measures to ensure the adoption of legislation and the publication of other regulations, provided for by the EU-Ukraine Visa Liberalization Action Plan, as well as to ensure preparation and submission of the third report on the implementation of the Action Plan by Ukraine to the European Commission.
The Cabinet is also instructed to monthly inform the European Union of the measures taken by Ukraine to ensure the necessary conditions for the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in 2013.
In addition, the government is instructed to render practical assistance to the monitoring mission of the European Parliament in Ukraine, in a timely manner to carry out a plan of priority actions for the integration of Ukraine into the EU in 2013, approved by the government on February 13, and the plan of priority measures to improve the electoral legislation, approved by the decree of March 4.
