Energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky hopes that Ukraine will be able to agree with Russia on gas prices cuts in the current year.
"I believe that the Russian Federation has begun to hear our position. I think, we will surely reach an agreement this year," Stavytsky said.
He noted that for Ukraine it is important to negotiate with Russia to reduce the price before the next heating season.
"The gas price should be reduced in any case, not only because Russia makes concessions to us. There is a decline in natural gas spot market," the minister stressed.
