Ukraine will be able to prepare for the European Basketball Championship in time, youth and sports minister Ravil Safiullin said, ForUm correspondent reports.

"In terms of preparation, EURO 2012 was a much larger project than EuroBasket. There no problem issues in terms of preparation. The main thing is that the country and the economy start to work. If there are funds, we will build all the necessary," he said.

The minister noted that the present government managed to prepare for Euro 2012 in a year and a half, almost "from scratch." "When the current government came to power three years ago, nothing was done for EURO 2012, there was a complete zero. The Olympiysky sport complex in Kyiv and the Lviv stadium were built and the Kharkiv stadium was finished in eighteen months. The scale of preparation for EuroBasket is much smaller, so we will do everything in time," Safiullin said.
