The condition of winter crops is estimated as good at 91% of areas, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said during the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Although the spring has not yet come to the most regions of Ukraine, spring field works are in the midst in the South and in Crimea. The sowing campaign is almost completed in Crimea: 94% of crops are already planted. Farmers of Odesa, Mykolayiv, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Donetsk regions continue sowing. According to the regions, the condition of winter crops is estimated as good and satisfactory at 91% of areas, and as poor - at 8% of areas," the PM noted.
According to Azarov, farmers are fully provided with fertilizers and seeds.
"That is, the sowing works have began at the appropriate level," the head of the government said.
