Opposition political forces have to take responsibility for the signed gas contracts with Russia, under which Ukraine annually overpays more than 7 billion dollars, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the meeting with journalists of Ukrainian TV channels, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
"Annually Ukraine overpays more than 7 billion dollars for gas. The opposition forces should take responsibility and say that they will solve this issue," the head of the government stressed.
Azarov said that the current government is the successor to the previous one, which signed the contract, now having extremely negative impact on the Ukrainian economy.
"Hence we have many imperfections, including in the mining and metals sector, a huge problem in the chemical industry as in the structure of production of fertilizers 90% falls to the cost of gas. However, they (the opposition) avoid this responsibility," the Prime Minister concluded.
