Ukrainians pay for gas not much more than people in the neighboring countries, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said during a meeting with journalists of Ukrainian TV channels.
"On average, our citizen pays 750 UAH per thousand cubic meters of the consumed gas. Russians, Belarusians, Romanians pay about six times more," Azarov said.
The Prime Minister also noted that pensions, wages and food prices in Romania are not much higher than those in Ukraine.
Azarov pointed out that a resident of Sweden pays 13.451 UAH per thousand cubic meters of gas, that is 20 times more than citizen of Ukraine pays.
"I have cited these examples not to say that we have a better life than in Sweden and Romania. Just when we are talking about the situation in the country, it can not be assessed only in black and white or only in negative colors, as opposition and, unfortunately, media like to do," he concluded.
