It is possible to take children away from streets and motivate them to military service under a contact by using military-patriotic education, in particular, holding rallies, coordinator of the NGO "Public movement for future", member of the public council of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine Mykhailo Harechko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
He noted that there is already experience of holding military and patriotic rallies. Thus, "Public movement for future" together with the Defence Ministry has already conducted a number of activities in different regions of Ukraine on the bases of military units, where young people from 15 to 23 years old passed the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) course.
Harechko added that the document on passage of SERE course will be an advantage for applicants of contract service.
He said that the public organization together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces plans to hold five rallies in 2013.
According to the Defence Ministry, the Armed Forces work closely not only with public organizations but also with the Education Ministry and, in particular, a plan of military-patriotic education of young people at schools are being developed now.
