440 million UAH will be spent for the reconstruction of the Pobeda Avenue in Kyiv, director general of the Kyivavtodor Kyiv Road Agency Heorhiy Hlynsky said during the retreat, ForUm correspondent reports.

"To date, the project costs 440 million UAH. This includes paving works, reconstruction of crossovers, 17 pedestrian subways and surface pedestrian crossings, lighting, barrier fencing. That is, the whole complex of works, provided for by the design documentation," he said.

According to Hlynsky, 405.808 square meters of traffic ways and 149.856 square meters of sidewalks and bike paths will be reconstructed.

He said that the technical condition of roads will be improved. The head of the Kyivavtodor stressed that the special "pockets" for public transport will be set up to ensure its smooth running and help eliminate traffic jams.

The chairman of the KCSA Oleksandr Popov added that the authorities are now ready to allocate 100 million UAH from the city budget for the reconstruction of the Pobeda Avenue. It is panned to receive additional 200-250 million USD from the state budget.

According to him, the works will be carried out in stages.

The director general of the Kyivavtodor Kyiv Road Agency specified that organizational works will begin as early as next week, and the reconstruction itself directly with closures of the Avenue sections will begin in April. "Reconstruction will start from the Zhytomyrska highway and will gradually go to the center. The works will be performed around the clock," Heorhiy Hlynsky summed up.
