The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak advocates a return of the right of legislative initiative to the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the Parliament’s press service informs.

According to Rybak, it's time to consider the issue of including the Supreme Court of Ukraine in the list of subjects having the right to legislative initiative in amending the Constitution of Ukraine.

"The Supreme Court had such a right till 1996. Indeed, experience shows that the initiative of the Supreme Court to modernize the legal framework and specific laws will be useful for a single legislative body," the press service quotes Rybak.

The speaker also supports the expansion of the interaction between the Parliament and the Supreme Court in issues of improving the criminal, civil and commercial procedural law.
