Kyiv women often complain of domestic violence

One third of calls to hotline of the Kyiv City Center for Women come from elderly Kyiv women, deputy director of the center Nonna Nazarkevych told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

Nazarkevych noted that these women often become victims of economic violence by their children. She added that there are complaints of physical violence as well.

According to Nazarkevych, during the year the Kyiv City Center for Women receives about 2.5 thousand appeals, and every fourth is a complaint about domestic violence.

She stressed that absolutely all women that become victims of domestic violence can apply to the center. "Women stay at the center for two-three months, but there are cases when women remain for six months," Nazarkevych summed up.
