Friendship between Ukraine and Georgia does not depend on the political forces that govern in both countries, acting ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine Giorgi Zaqareishvili stated, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Our interest lies in friendship. It is not necessarily to make friends because of something. We have enough experience in the history of good relations with Ukraine. These are contacts ... that exist among people, this is a sympathy that was, is and will be," he said.
He stressed that Ukraine is a strategic partner for Georgia.
"So this relationship should include everything - politics, economics and human components," the diplomat said.
According to Zaqareishvili, meetings at high levels are held between leaders of two countries. Thus, the meeting between the heads of intellectual property departments of Georgia and Ukraine was held, as well as between the representatives of agriculture of both countries.
"There are contacts. I hope they will keep developing," acting Georgia's ambassador to Ukraine concluded.
