There were cases of abandonment of infants in Ukraine, although the state could prevent these actions, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said during the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
"In most cases, the state can help mothers who find themselves in a difficult situation," he said.
Yanukovych insists to create mother and child centers in every region of Ukraine.
In addition, the President stressed that Ukraine needs specialized institutions, where parents can leave their children with special needs for a while.
The President demanded to eliminate unfairness in the payment of cash benefits to disabled children, orphans and children deprived of parental care.
