Attempts to keep corruption loopholes in the law will be severely punished, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
Yanukovych stressed that the negative impact of European depression on Ukraine was significantly mitigated thanks to the consistent work in 2012.
According to him, the reforms have a systemic effect as they are economic immunity from external crisis.
"Establishment of order in the government system alone will not provide the efficient development of the state. Already at the beginning of our work I realized that only radical systemic reforms can ensure the implementation of key objectives of government economic policy. Ukraine did not have the right to remain among outsiders within market changes," Yanukovych said.
The head of state said that the reforms are now being conducted under the global financial crisis and the severe financial constraints. He added that not all initiatives have been implemented.
According to Yanukovych, the authorities face a difficult task - "to teach to work" a new mechanism, and teach the community to make full use of its potential. "This is the challenge that faces the new composition of the government. I warn you: I will strictly control whether governmental or departmental regulations correspond to goals of basic laws, the spirit of the reforms. Any attempt to dilute the changes, to avoid responsibility, and especially to keep corruption loopholes will be severely punished, including by appropriate personnel solutions," the President concluded.
