Liberalization of the visa regime between Ukraine and the European Union is not of discriminative nature with regard to Russia, the Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"I do not see how the visa regime between Ukraine and the EU could discriminate Russia," he said.
Perebyinis said that the talks between Russia and the EU on the visa regime liberalization is a totally different process. "I do not see any reason to say that our agreement in any way discriminates Russia in this matter. We hope that our Russian colleagues succeed in these negotiations, as we believe that freedom of movement is a very important issue. For our part, we will make every effort to make progress on this issue for the citizens of Ukraine," Foreign Ministry spokesman concluded.
