Justice minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych said that the decision made by jury trial won’t be final.

"In my opinion, the jury trial is a court of emotions. We are used to focus on what we have seen in the movies. But a work of art that shows something beautiful is a dream, an ideal option. Imagine that a certain number of people, who have never gone to a law school and do not know what a criminal trial is, gather together and decide whether a person is guilty or not. What is the probability that their decision will be infallible?" the minister said in interview.

"It is very important to observe all the rules of the trial. Then the probability of error is minimized," he stressed.

Lavrynovych stressed that the final decision is made and described by the professional judge. However, the question of guilt could be decided by the grand jury.
