The officials are blocking the implementation of anticorruption legislation, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told a press conference within the Dialogue with the country project, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Implementation of this legislation is blocked almost at all levels of performers. Old habits, desire to live in old way, desire to continue looking for sources of wealth prevail over fear of the law. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the legislation," the President noted.

However, he reminded that the anti-corruption law was adopted only two years ago. "Corruption is not a one-day issue, it can not be solved in one, two or three years. Today, the most advanced countries in the world have this problem. Ukraine is on the threshold of solving this problem," Yanukovych stressed.

The head of state admitted that the Ukrainians do not see the full picture of fighting corruption in the country. "I will certainly oblige the Prosecutor General's Office and all law enforcement agencies to inform the public on the implementation of anti-corruption law in the country," the President promised.
