Yatsenyuk: Opposition will support simple majority vote

The opposition factions are ready to support the initiative of the Party of Regions on voting by the majority present at the sittings, leader of the Fatherland faction in the Verkhovna Rada Arseniy Yatsenyuk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

He noted that the voting system by majority works in the EU parliaments, "but if we want our Parliament to become European, we need not only to vote under the European procedure, but also to have the European elite and the European political parties," the MP said.

According to Yatsenyuk, the introduction of such voting system will be beneficial for the opposition, as all its MPs will take part in the sittings.
