The naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation will enhance bilateral cooperation, Russian Black Sea Fleet commander, Vice-Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov said, speaking yesterday in Sevastopol at solemn meeting devoted to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland.

According to the commander, the fleets of today not only have joint solemn passage during a parade in Sevastopol to mark the Victory Day, the Navy Day of Russia and Ukraine (the last Sunday in July - Ed.). Recently, the navies have resumed exercises, and now hold the Fairway of Peace joint exercises.

In turn, the commander of the naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vice-Admiral Yuri Ilyin, speaking from the rostrum of the meeting, welcomed the high level of cooperation between the two navies in bilateral exercises, in holding city-wide events, , and expressed hope for further cooperation.
