286 chestnut trees will be planted in Khreschatyk, the main street of Kyiv, first deputy chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Mazurchak said during the international scientific and practical conference on the development of green economy, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The city budget will allocate three million UAH for the purchase of chestnuts, only 286 chestnut trees will be replaced," he said.

According to the official, many trees have already outlived their biological age, some of them dried, and some were damaged.

The new kind of chestnuts "Brioti" will be bought abroad, but it will be not young plants, it will be trees with trunks of 25 centimeters, which can quickly take root in our area.
